Take a wide view and several angles in consistent light. Include nearby edges, seams and body lines.
Share the repair history
Tell the repairer about previous refinishing, touch-up or bodywork in that area. Mention cracked paint, corrosion or a wrap over the panel.
Discuss the expected result
Ask whether paintless repair can be arranged, what improvement is realistic and whether any conventional body or paint work is also proposed. A photo alone may not settle these questions.
